Almost three-quarters of Asian oak species find themselves without live representations in botanical gardens, putting countless vulnerable trees in danger of extinction. Agriculture and logging pose significant threats to these essential forest ecosystems. To combat this, immediate fieldwork and seed collection efforts are being organized to safeguard endangered species. The overarching objective of these conservation actions is to create managed collections that can facilitate future reintroduction efforts.
